From welcoming guests to your wedding to communicating the menu for the evening, signs are an important addition to any wedding. That’s why we’re so excited to share the story of a talented local artist crafting custom signs for weddings, events, and home decor. Meet Hanna Runner, the owner and artisan behind Sciotas.

Tell us a little about your business

My business is something I started the summer of 2016. I was playing around with paints and some wood I had from our barn. I painted my name on the sign and added some flowers. This sign turned into my newest income. I began making signs for people to hang at their homes and it soon turned into a business. I now make wedding signs, home decor, and gifts for my customers. Everything is handmade from my kitchen table.

What is your specialty?

My specialty is wedding signs. I love doing signs for weddings, that’s when my heart is most happy in my work.

What is your favorite part about making wedding signage?

My favorite part about making wedding signs is when the bride or groom sees the work. I love getting to be a part of making their day so big! It brings me so much joy when I see the signs bring life to their big day.

How far in advance do clients need to book with you?

It is important that clients book at least two weeks ahead of time in order for me to have time to make the sign. And I also must have payment before I start on the sign as well.

Any tips for couples looking to book with you?

If you want something out of the ordinary, book with me. I love designing just what the customer is picturing and bringing joy to their special day.
